Care Instructions | Wool yarn is sustainable, biodegradable, highly durable and highly resilient with natural oils that provide softness. Dyed and undyed wool products will vary in shade from piece to piece and will fade with exposure to sunlight. Wool is the highest shedding fibre. Shedding is considered normal and will vary depending on the construction and content. Shedding will usually subside over time, although some rugs may have mild shedding for the lifetime of the rug. Canister vacuums without beater bars, brooms and manual sweepers are the optimal type of vacuums to use on rugs. Clean spills immediately. Once a stain is set, it becomes much more difficult to clean. Never rub a spill, as this forces the spill deeper into the rug. When a liquid like wine or coffee spills on your rug try to dab the stain with a dry towel or cloth immediately. To remove any remaining stains from your rug, use clean lukewarm water to dab the stain with a clean towel. Liquid will change the structure of the viscose piles irreversibly. Always use a professional area rug-cleaning expert. Cleaning a rug requires a process different than cleaning wall-to-wall carpet. Deviations up to 3% in the sizes are possible, since rugs are a textile and therefore flexible product. Handmade rugs are made by artisans and they may have subtle colour variations which are not considered defects due to the inherent characteristics of natural fibres and dyes. Loose fibres, or 'sprouts', are a normal part of the break-in process of handmade rugs. All handmade rugs, unlike machine made rugs, have imperfections since they are handmade — this adds to characteristic of these rugs. |
