Care InstructionsJute is a cellulose fibre extracted from a plant then spun into yarn. This material is sustainable, biodegradable, durable and affordable. Dyed and undyed colours will vary based on the time of year when the fibres are harvested. Jute will change colour in the sun, it is recommended that it is kept out of direct sunlight. It is highly recommended to rotate your rug 180 degrees every 3–6 months to balance appearance and to distribute wear evenly. Regular vacuuming will help to curtail shedding sooner. Canister vacuums without beater bars, brooms and manual sweepers are the optimal type of vacuums to use on rugs. Clean spills immediately. Once a stain is set, it becomes much more difficult to clean. Never rub a spill, as this forces the spill deeper into the rug. When a liquid like wine or coffee spills on your rug try to dab the stain with a dry towel or cloth immediately. Always use a professional area rug-cleaning expert. Cleaning a rug requires a process different than cleaning wall-to-wall carpet. Deviations up to 3% in the sizes are possible, since rugs are a textile and therefore flexible product. Handmade rugs are made by artisans and they may have subtle colour variations which are not considered defects due to the inherent characteristics of natural fibres and dyes. Loose fibres, or 'sprouts', are a normal part of the break-in process of handmade rugs. All handmade rugs, unlike machine made rugs, have imperfections since they are handmade — this adds to characteristic of these rugs.
