| Care Instructions | It is highly durable, with low shedding. This material has a slight chemical odour which will fade over time. Smells are caused by dyes, yarns and shipping for long distances in sealed wrap. Most odours will vanish within a week once the rug is removed from its packaging. Colour will fade over time but less than other materials. Canister vacuums without beater bars, brooms and manual sweepers are the optimal type of vacuums to use on rugs. Clean spills immediately. Once a stain is set, it becomes much more difficult to clean. Never rub a spill, as this forces the spill deeper into the rug. When a liquid like wine or coffee spills on your rug try to dab the stain with a dry towel or cloth immediately. Machine woven rugs may have slight variation in size (up to 3%) which are not considered defects. Always use a professional area rug-cleaning expert. Cleaning a rug requires a process different than cleaning wall-to-wall carpet. Deviations up to 3% in the sizes are possible, since rugs are a textile and therefore flexible product. Handmade rugs are made by artisans and they may have subtle colour variations which are not considered defects due to the inherent characteristics of natural fibres and dyes. Loose fibres, or 'sprouts', are a normal part of the break-in process of handmade rugs. All handmade rugs, unlike machine made rugs, have imperfections since they are handmade — this adds to characteristic of these rugs. |
